Book Cover Illustration & Design for “The Witch Hunter’s Amulet” written by Marco Lobo

The book cover illustration and design for this cover took much research to achieve the authentic feel of the 1500′s era of Inquistions and convey the rich cultural and spiritual tapestry that was India then and still is. Below you will see a snapshot of my drafting table with some test illustrations to warm up with as well as references. How to Get a Job in Publishing That ISN’T in New York

How can you get a virtual foot in the publishing door from a thousand miles away? According to Jeremy Soldevilla: Make like an author and build a platform.

Interview of Jeremy Soldevilla by Elisabeth Watson of Publishing Trendsetter

Publishing has always been a difficult industry to land that first job in—almost as hard as it has been for a new writer to get published. But in the past few years, thanks to technology, that’s changing. A young person with skills, energy, and passion has many more opportunities than ever before to jump into the industry.

What goes around comes around for textbook publishing industry…

Excerpt from article written by Nicholas Kolakowski for eweek.com.

Before his death, Apple CEO Steve Jobs long harbored an abiding interest in creating some sort of text-book related product. “He wanted to disrupt the textbook industry and save the spines of spavined students bearing backpacks by creating electronic texts and curriculum material for the iPad,” read one passage in Jobs’ recent biography by Walter Isaacson. At another point, Jobs “agreed” with News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch that “the paper textbook business would be blown away by digital learning materials.” You can read full article here: Apple iPad Textbook Initiatives Could Boost Bottom Line: Analyst – Enterprise Networking – News & Reviews – eWeek.com

Wacom Intous 4 tablet freezing bug with iMacs!

Recently purchased a new Wacom Intous 4 tablet to use on my 27″ iMac, to replace my 6 year old Wacom tablet that worked with no issues whatsoever. After a day of use I noticed that the Intous 4 would always freeze after a restart from sleep mode on my Apple that never occurred with my old tablet over years of use. I then do Wacom software re-installs, I update all drivers, I check all hardware connections, still the tablet remains frozen. I call Apple support, they say since my perirpherals are all recognized in my System Profiler, and talking to the CPU I am good to go.

Welcome to the new website for Armen Kojoyian Design

I created this site (left) years ago that no longer served its purpose nor did I really know much about website design at that time, other then knowing I needed a presence on the internet. Last January I started the massive undertaking of building a new site html based but with no more knowledge then I had years ago. Luckily my tech guru buddy at ZrainMedia dropped a tip to look into WordPress as a module to build my new site, and he helped fill-in my knowledge gaps to hatch this site, couldn’t of happened with out him.

I ate everything up on WordPress for 3 months till about 3 to 4 am many mornings, then I just dove in banged my head often but got this WordPress thing learned and produced the site you see here now. The control I now have over my site and the backend is quite powerful and glad I didn’t go down the traditional site building means of html and Adobe software, WordPess customization and control is a superior way to go for a individual or small company.
