1980 BOSTON MARATHON Poster

Exclusive offering of last 100 Boston Marathon posters signed by illustrator Armen Kojoyian

In 1980 I was honored to illustrate the first officially sanctioned poster for the Boston Marathon. I was commissioned by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the first corporate sponsor of the race. Copies of this poster for the famous race seem to have disappeared from sight. My research of Boston Marathon posters on Ebay, Art.com and other venues show other year’s posters, but not my poster of 1980. I have preserved in mint condition 130 posters, and am now making available for purchase 100 autographed and numbered editions of the offset press posters from the original press run (not giclee or lithograph prints). The opportunity to purchase these valuable posters of this historic event is now. Each purchase will include my signed Certificate of Authenticity.

The Giants are one of five teams that joined the NFL in 1925, but the only one admitted that year which still exists. The team ranks third among all NFL franchises with seven NFL titles: four in the pre–Super Bowl era (1927, 1934, 1938, 1956) and three since the advent of the Super Bowl (Super Bowls XXI (1986), XXV (1990), and XLII (2007). Get your New York Giants t-shirts and get your super bowl sports memorabilia at Cafe Press studioArmen or visit Zazzle studioArmen.

Garden of Digital Resonance #0003

I created by accident in Photoshop a anthropomorphic graphic that looked like a Valentine. This graphic had character faces that reminded me of Casper the Ghost, once the image  formalized I pushed it into a more defined heart to create a “anti-valentine” so to speak. Once my imagery became better defined I thought it would make a great Valentines Day gift idea for graphic products in my “studioArmen” internet stores at  CafePress and Zazzle. Take a look and you may get struck by Cupid!

Retro Sports Memorabilia of Providence, RI

Since my college days at the University of Rhode Island where I was a fine art major and jock, and with those opposing interests confounding my campus peers from the studios of the fine art building to the athletic field. Art and sports over time merged with a fascination for sports trivia of a older century in Rhode Island. It was always hard to fathom how such a little state with no mega-city won a baseball and football world championship. The Providence Grays were baseball world champs in 1884, the Providence Steam Rollers were football world champs in 1928. Red Grange the “Galloping Ghost” of the Chicago Bears even played in Providence against the Steam Rollers.
